A student's major in college helps them decide a career and what they wish to be in their professional life.

Summer is probably one of the best times of the year, with the sun radiating heat and all the temperatures rising to about a 100 degrees Fahrenheit. But not all countries are as lucky as the United States to have all the luxuries of air conditioners, swimming pools and ice cream stores nearby to cool the heat of the summer.

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the governing body at Illinois Institute of Technology. Their major mission on campus is to act as a bridge between the administration and the students by raising student voices and opinions. They provide a platform for students to raise their concerns and find long term solutions after interacting with all affected members. The SGA is divided into Senate, Finance Board and Judicial Board.

Most people on campus, including myself, believed WIIT was just simply a radio station that hosted talk shows by students, faculty, and alumni.

“Life is too short, so don’t waste it living someone else’s.” The founder of Apple, Steve Jobs, said this during one of his speeches and believes that everyone has the potential to be the best in their career if they start living and doing for themselves. A career fair was held at IIT on February 4, 2016 at Herman Hall between 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Quidditch is a fictional game picked up from the world of Harry Potter and adopted into the ‘Muggle world,’ as Hagrid would say. The game is played amongst seven players, out of which there is one seeker, two beaters, one keeper and three chasers. As it is a fictional game, the rules applied in Harry Potter’s world cease to exist, but new rules were written down to make playing the game easy.

Every architect starts with a single dream of designing their own building, a building that will bear their name for decades. Like Crown Hall has the mark of Mies Van De Rohe, every aspiring architect wishes fro the same. Many architects have been successful in this path, including architects like Frank Lloyd Wright, Mies Van De Rohe, Amanda Wiliiams and many more.

Getting a job can be one of the hardest and most important things to do after studying hard for 4 or 5 years at IIT! However, every year IIT’s Career Services department organizes a career fair where companies from both the public and private sectors come and interact with students. This year, the career fair was held on the September 24 in Herman Hall.
