September 10 was another fun-filled day for the Scarlet Hawks Cross Country Team. The team traveled to Kenosha, WI to compete in the UW Parkside Midwest CC Open. The Men’s team finished in 5th place out of 12 teams with 134 points, while the Women’s team finished 4th out of 15 with 106 points.

On the Men’s side, junior Zach Gates finished first for the Hawks in 18th place with a time of 27.34.3. Also finishing in top spots for the team were senior Kenny Murphey (33rd, 28.10.0), senior Wes Villalobos (35th, 28.20.1), sophomore Andrew Montague (39th 28.27.3), senior Phil Theisen (46th 28.44.1), and freshman Sam Wietlispach (47th 28.46.9).

For the Women’s team, freshman Abby Jahn finished in 6th place, with a time of 19.08.0. Freshman Courtney Rouse finished shortly after her in 14th with a time of 19.56.4. Also finishing in top spots for the team were senior Maddy Jensen (25th, 20.42.4), junior Kira Vincent (31st 20.53.9), and sophomore Jordan Kelch.
