Tutankhamun was a pharaoh in Egypt who was particularly special than the other pharaohs uncovered by Egyptian archaeologists. One main reason that makes him special is that he was the youngest pharaoh to have been buried inside a tomb. He started his rule at nine years old. Just imagine the kid given the responsibility of a kingdom. The main thing to note about his tomb is that it was hidden away for a long time and was not as big as the other pyramids as King Tut died before he could have his pyramid completely built. But his tomb had the most riches and the most invaluable treasures inside. His small pyramid, being hidden away, was not recognized by grave robbers, so the tomb lay safely away for the archeologists to discover before it was robbed of its riches.
Interesting things found in the pyramid led the archeologists to believe that King Tut was indeed special. His death was found to not be natural and was indeed a mystery. He had a bash in his head which gave rise to suspicions of murder. His Sarcophagus was the grandest ever found. The golden face that comes to our mind when we think about Egypt, pyramids, or mummies is King Tut’s. It is widely seen and is very popular. He lay inside three coffins arranged one inside the other. His tomb consisted of hundreds of crutches as he had a clubbed foot while he was alive. The ancient Egyptians believed that the heart was where all the thinking happened and did not know how the brain worked. But in the tomb of King Tut, the heart which was considered to be the most important organ was missing. He was very fond of iron daggers and had a beautiful collection of daggers inside. Something that happened after the discovery of King Tut’s tomb had the people rattled. Howard Carter, the archeologist who discovered King Tut’s tomb and some of his crew members started falling ill mysteriously and died. Rumors say that it is the curse of King Tut in play, while science states that the exposure to some toxins inside the tomb might have resulted in the illness. Say what you may, but those rumors gave rise to the plots for The Mummy movies.
