• Student faculty cookout

    On a cold windy Friday, one wouldn’t expect to have a cookout would they? Well, there was the Student/Faculty cookout where students could meet with advisers and faculty to get to know them on a more social level. Unfortunately, not many faculty members showed up. However, there was a supposed faculty meeting at the time so don’t start quipping about teachers who don’t care. Matt Bauer was in attendance and met with a few students.
  • Baseball win one against St. Francis

    Despite the streak of losses over the past few games, the Scarlet Hawks Baseball Team walked away from their first game against St. Francis with a win. The Hawks started the Wednesday game off with a 2-1 lead, and held on to win the game 6-3. Sophomore Jordan Obata started the game off with a home run to right field, followed up by senior Brian Glennon with a single and an advancement to second on an error. Senior Reid Matsumoto singled and brought Glennon home for the second run of the inning for the Hawks. St.

  • Club Basketball earns First Home Win, rests for next year

    A long, hard fought season finally comes to an end on a high note. The Hawks finish the 2012 season with a 3-11 record, two of those wins coming from their last two games. The first game, held Friday, March 23 was won by a score of 74 to 50 against Devry University. Richard Wade was the team’s leading scorer in this win with a high of 20 points.   • Spring classes return to Keating

    After a long break this semester, Keating fitness classes have returned! Salsa and Yoga have already begun and Zumba is set to start soon. Keating staff encourages you to try one or more of the classes, as you are sure to have a great time with one of our experienced instructors. Classes are open to Students and Faculty/staff of IIT, Vandercook and Shimer. No previous experience is necessary to participate, just come ready to have a good time and please wear loose fitting clothing or workout attire.

  • IIT student serves community by volunteering

    Greek organizations nationwide are dedicated to service and philanthropy and improving their immediate communities. On March 10th Tony Iaccino from Sigma Phi Epsilon participated in his fourth year of service to an outstanding organization, Face the Future Foundation, that supports children who cannot afford facial surgery. He fundraised for the Craniofacial Center at the University of Illinois Medical Center.

  • RHA participates in Illinois-wide conference

    Aiming to get residents more involved in creating a positive living environment, the Residence Hall Association (RHA) attended the third Illinois RHA (IRHA) Conference at DePaul University in Chicago, and came back enlightened, entertained and transformed. More importantly, they came back after spending some unforgettable time with other campus contingents, and are now raring to go apply the skills and values learnt at theconference to try and create a fun residential experience.
