Walt Disney Pictures’ all time favorite Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus, was screened on Friday the 13 of October in Wishnick Hall from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. by Union Board. On October 12, Unicef at IIT held their second general body meeting to raise awareness about the current economic crisis of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Asma Suaibi, education chair, explained how children are undernourished, and parents cease sending them to school just simply because their funds are channeled towards food and medical supplies. The situation is degrading day-by-day. Here is what Marianne Neustadlt, a Venezuelan and an ex-student at IIT, has to tell us of her country:

On Thursday, September 21, UNICEF, IIT chapter, invited students to a movie night in Wishnick Hall, around 8 p.m. to 10 p.m to sensitize us on the situation of Syria. UNICEF IIT presented an Oscar winning documentary - “The White Helmets.” Here is an overview of the movie.

The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) Chapter at Illinois Tech hosted its first ever general body meeting on Wednesday, September 20, at the Robert A. Pritzker Science Center during lunchtime.

On Tuesday, September 12, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) held their first speaker series during their General Body Meeting in Perlstein Hall Auditorium during the lunch hour. The theme was Lunch and Learn. The executive members had welcomed two Alumni, who currently work at Grainger.

The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) chapter at Illinois Tech held their first General Body Meeting (GBM), on September 14, in Life Sciences 121, during the lunch hour. Members of this organization were welcomed by the new executive team for the 2017 to 2018 academic.

BJ Engelhardt -Director of Operations, Digital Analytics, and Strategic Intelligence, keenly welcomed Dr. Daniel Moser and prompted our attendance for the upcoming events: Career Fair (September 21, September 22) and Prep Night (Tuesday evening, September 20 from 4:00 to and 7:30 p.m.).

The origins of these technology systems can be traced back to 1962 when Mort Heilig introduced Sensorama. An arcade-style cabinet with a 3D display, Sensorama was designed to replicate the sensation of riding a motorcycle down the streets of Brooklyn.
